Static Summer is an alternative rock band from the New York City
area. The band is made up of 5 friends with the common ambition to
write timeless hard driving songs with huge hooks to go along with
there edgy guitar lines & dynamic rhythm section. Their influences
include everything from The Cure and Helmet to Duran Duran and The
Foo Fighters.
The band just finished recording 4 songs with
an eclectic selection of producers. Tracking for drums & bass were
done with Scrap 60 productions. Jay Gordon (Orgy) produced the track
"Chasing Yesterday" and Mitch Allan (acclaimed songwriter and SR-71
frontman) produced "Simple Again". The band self produced "She's Not
a lover & "Tell Me", with the bombastic mix being handled by Jay
Baumgardner (Papa Roach, Evanescence, New Found Glory, Helmet). The
band prides themselves with their captivating live show, having cut
there teeth sharing stages with Papa Roach and Helmet and having
playing classic venues such as Irving Plaza, Gramercy Theatre and
Mercury Lounge.
"She's Not a Lover " is currently being
played on a number of stations such as 101.9 WRXP in NYC by Matt
Pinfield as well as 89X in Detroit and 10 5.5 WHDA in NJ.
After selling over 100 self pressed CDs at one show while opening up
for Papa Roach, plus a mounting request on there Myspace page from
new fans spanning the globe, the band decided to put out the 4 song
“She’s Not a Lover” EP digitally to satisfy their audience. This is
just the start, as Static Summer have big things planned for 2010!
